Why you’ll love high protein salsa ranch

Incredible easy: I’m not exaggerating when I say this recipe comes together in 45-seconds. All you need to do is stir three simple ingredients together!

High protein: This easy dip is made with greek yogurt, so it’s calorie-conscious and high in protein.

So tasty: If you love ranch, you’re going to absolutely obsess over this fun salsa ranch version.

Ingredients

You only need three ingredients to make this recipe:

  • Plain greek yogurt: I like using 2% for more protein and fewer calories, but use what you prefer. You could also sub for blended cottage cheese.
  • Ranch seasoning: You’ll use one packet of ranch seasoning, which is 28 grams or about two tablespoons. I like Hidden Valley brand best for this, but if you can’t find it, any brand works.
  • Salsa: Any store bought salsa will work! I prefer the preserved kind in a jar for this recipe, rather than the fresh refrigerated salsa. If you like spice, choose a medium or hot salsa.

If you’d like, you can also add a squeeze of fresh lime juice to brighten things up!

Step-by-step instructions

It couldn’t be more simple to make this high protein salsa ranch dressing.

Simply add all ingredients to a small bowl, and mix until well combined. If you want your salsa ranch dressing totally smooth, use an immersion blender.

How to serve salsa ranch dressing

This salsa ranch works well as a dip, dressing or spread.

  • Dip with cucumber, snap peas, carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, radish, or crackers
  • Dressing on salads, grain bowls, or tacos
  • Spread on sandwiches, wraps, or burritos

Variations

Extra spicy: Add hot sauce and use a spicy salsa.

Garlic: Add 1-2 cloves of grated fresh garlic.

Chipotle: Blend a chipotle pepper in adobo into your salsa ranch.

Lime: Add a generous squeeze of fresh lime juice.

Where can I find ranch seasoning?

You can find dry ranch seasoning mix on Amazon or in your local grocery store. I prefer this one from Hidden Valley, but any brand works!

If you’re located in Canada like me, you can usually find ranch seasoning mix near the other seasoning blends or gravy mixes. I found mine at Sobey’s! You can also order online from Walmart or other retailers.

How to store

Your high protein salsa ranch dip will stay good in the fridge for up to one week, or until the yogurt expires!

Keep it stored in an airtight container in the fridge, and stir before serving.

How can I make my dressing thinner?

If your dressing or dip is too thick, add a splash or water or milk and stir. You can also add a squeeze of fresh lime juice for extra flavor, which will also thin the dressing.

Helpful tips

  • For a less tangy taste, choose 2% greek yogurt or higher fat percentages.
  • Taste your salsa after mixing it, and adjust as needed! The perfect ratio depends on the brands you’re using, so don’t be afraid to taste and tweak.
  • If you don’t want chunks, blend your salsa ranch in a blender cup or using an immersion blender.
